Sunday Evening
Reception
Come and spend a delightful evening on the legendary Queen Mary. Steeped
in history and tradition, the Queen Mary is the grandest ocean liner ever
built. During her illustrious career, she has played many roles—from
elegant ocean liner to World War II troopship.
Dining and entertainment has been planned at the stern of the ship where you will find food stations, music, and quiet sitting areas located in the majestic settings of the Queen’s Salon, Royal Salon, King’s View Room, Victoria Room, and Brittania Salon. The Art Deco furnishings in these salons and banquet room remain a timeless masterpiece.
Outside, the Verandah Grill together with the Sun Deck, Promenade Deck and Main Deck offer a delightful setting for those who want to watch the sunset and the illuminated downtown skyline while they dine and dance.
Buses
will leave the convention center beginning at 6:00 p.m. and return beginning at
9:30 p.m. One admission ticket is included with full registration.
Additional tickets may be purchased at $45; tickets for children 3-11 years old
are $12.

Wednesday Evening
Social
Welcome aboard the motor yacht “Spirit”. Take a leisurely cruise within
the Long Beach and Los Angeles breakwater and enjoy the warm Californian
evening breeze in you hair as you watch pelicans returning from the deep azure
of the Pacific silhouetted against the sunset. With the fading glow in
the west, enjoy the dining, music and dancing as you marvel at the spectacle of
the Queen Mary ablaze with light against the backdrop of the Long Beach Down
Town evening skyline. Cruise past the Aquarium, Shoreline and Ports of
Call Villages, Angels Gate Lighthouse and the Vincent Thomas and Desmond
Bridges plus much, much more.
The price for the cruise includes live entertainment and a five-entry buffet with all of the condiments, salad, desserts, coffee and tea included. The cruise will depart from Shoreline Village, Long Beach adjacent to the Convention Center. The gang plank will be raised at 7:00 p.m. and the yacht will return at 10.00 p.m. The cost, in addition to registration fees, is $55. Please book early due to limited availability.

Annual Golf Tournament
Meadowlark Golf Course is a picturesque golf course in the heart of Huntington
Beach. The public course features numerous hazards and contoured,
elevated greens making each hole a challenge to approach off the tee. The
front nine, played on a mostly flat plateau at the northern end of the course,
is much kinder than the back side. Most of the second nine plays through
undulating hills and are surrounded by many mature trees. With a fully
functional, well-lit driving range and professional staff, Meadowlark offers
all of the beauty and challenge the average golfer craves.

Each year M&M attends a baseball outing. This year we have purchased tickets for the Anaheim Angels vs. Chicago White Sox for Tuesday, August 7th. The seats are just on the first base side of home plate, which is an excellent view. There are 45 tickets that will include bus transportation from/to Long Beach at $32.00 each. There are another 12 tickets with no transportation at $20.00 each. Tickets will be sold on a "first-come-first-served" basis. To reserve your seat, please contact Bob Koch via email. Please state which type of ticket is desired. Buses will depart for the game at 5:35 pm. The game begins at 7:05 pm.

Once you're in Long Beach, you can get around downtown without spending a penny. Our free Passport service connects the Convention Center, local hotels, restaurants, shops and attractions. Long Beach is also connected to downtown Los Angeles by the new Metro Blue Line. And you can get there in less than 55 minutes aboard this state-of-the-art light rail system.

Museum of Latin American Art
The Museum of Latin American Art researches, collects, and exhibits the contemporary art of Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Spanish-speaking Caribbean by artists who have lived and worked in those countries since 1945.
Queensway Bay
Encompassing 300 acres of oceanfront, this area includes The Queen Mary,
the Aquarium of the Pacific, Rainbow Harbor, Shoreline Village and Downtown
Marina. It is only a short walk from the convention center and accessible
by footbridge. Stroll the walk along the marina, eat in one of the many
wonderful restaurants on the water, and enjoy a sunset view of the majestic
Queen Mary across the bay.
Aquarium of the Pacific
The Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific is one of the largest aquariums in
the United States! More than 12,000 marine animals representing over 550
species fill 17 major living habitats, 30 smaller exhibits and takes visitors
on a journey throughout the Pacific Ocean's three regions: Southern California/
Baja; the Tropical Pacific and the Northern Pacific.
Queen Mary Exhibits
A floating city awash in elegance, the Queen
Mary, listed on the
National Register of Historic Places, remains one of the most famous ships in
history. The Queen Mary features an on-board hotel, an elaborate
Champagne Sunday Brunch, a variety of restaurants, a wedding chapel and 16 Art
Deco reception salons for private celebrations, as well as exciting historical
and mystical tours. The Ghosts and Legends tour takes you deep below
decks for a haunting, interactive encounter with the supernatural. Decide
for yourself, if you think she is haunted! Today, the 55-acre Queen Mary
Seaport, where the Queen Mary is housed, includes the 365-stateroom Hotel Queen
Mary; the Queen's Marketplace and a shopping and dining area. The Queen Mary is
truly a "must see" in the City of Long Beach.
Griffith Park -
L.A. Zoo / Observatory
With over 4,107 acres of natural terrain covered with California oak
trees, wild sage and manzanita, Griffith Park is the largest municipal park and
urban wilderness area in the United States. Situated in the eastern Santa
Monica Mountain range, the park's elevation range from 384 to 1625 feet above
sea level with climates varying from semiarid chaparral foothills to forested
valleys. Over the years recreational attractions have been developed
throughout the park, however an amazingly large portion of the park remains
virtually unchanged from the days Native American villages occupied the area's
lower slopes. Today's Griffith Park offers numerous family attractions,
an assortment of educational and cultural institutions, and miles of hiking and
horseback riding trails, and provides visitors an ideal environment for enjoyable
recreation activities.
The Los Angeles Zoo is located in the heart of the nation's second-largest city, a 113-acre site in Griffith Park. Each year 1.3 million visitors pass through the gates to view a collection of 1,200 animals from around the world.
The Griffith Observatory has been a major Los Angeles landmark since 1935. It is visited by nearly two million people each year end ranks seventh on the list of major tourist attractions of Southern California. It sits on the southern slope of Mount Hollywood where it commands a stunning view of the Los Angeles basin below. Thousands of people enjoy the view from its balconies, especially at night. The Observatory is divided into three main areas: the Hall of Science astronomy museum, the telescopes, and the planetarium theater. All are open to the public and, except planetarium shows, are free of charge. The telescopes operate only when the sky is clear.
Hollywood and Los Angeles
No trip to the Southland is complete without a visit to the Fabled
Streets of Los Angeles. From the famous Mann Chinese Theater, to the
Hollywood Walk of Fame, and classical to jazz concerts at the Hollywood Bowl,
there are events and sights for everyone in the family. Stand on
the corner of Hollywood and Vine and watch the people! LA enjoys
diversity not found in most parts of the world!
Downtown Los Angeles Walking Tours
Downtown Los Angeles is a trove of architecture treasures. The Los Angeles Conservancy's walking tours on these pages provides a sampling of Los Angeles' best downtown historic architecture, from the Beaux Arts magnificence of the Biltmore Hotel to the Art Deco sophistication of the Southern California Edison Building and the Victorian ebullience of the Bradbury Building and Angels Flight.
The Getty
The J. Paul Getty Museum seeks to delight, inspire, and educate the
public by acquiring, conserving, studying, exhibiting, and interpreting works
of art of the highest quality within its fields of collecting. It offers a wide
range of public programs, including lectures, classes, films, and
performances. The Museum has two locations: the J. Paul Getty Museum at
the Getty Center, which houses the collections of European paintings, drawings,
sculpture, illuminated manuscripts, and decorative arts, and European and
American photographs; and the J. Paul Getty Museum at the Getty Villa in
Malibu, which will house the collection of classical antiquities.
LACMA (Los Angeles
County Museum of Art)

LACMA is the premier visual arts museum in the Western United States. Its
holdings include more than 150,000 works spanning the history of art from
ancient times to the present.
MOCA Museum of Contemporary Art
MOCA is home to one of the country's finest permanent collections of art since 1940, ranging from masterpieces of abstract expressionist and pop art to recent works by young artists. Both permanent and changing selections from this stellar collection are on view throughout the year.
LaBrea Tar Pits
Saber-toothed cats, Columbian mammoths, and the La Brea Tar Pits, the world famous repository of Ice Age fossils in the heart of the Los Angeles 'Miracle Mile' district.
The George C. Page Museum is a research and an educational facility, located in the heart of America's second largest city at Hancock Park along Wilshire Boulevard. The Page Museum is located at the Rancho La Brea Tar Pits, one of the world's most famous fossil localities, recognized for having an unusually diverse assemblage of extinct Ice Age plants and animals.
Simon Weisenthal Museum of Tolerance
The Museum of Tolerance is a high tech, hands-on experiential museum that focuses on two central themes through unique interactive exhibits: the dynamics of racism and prejudice in America and the history of the Holocaust - the ultimate example of man's inhumanity to man. The Museum, the educational arm of the Simon Wiesenthal Center, was founded to challenge visitors to confront bigotry and racism, and to understand the Holocaust in both historic and contemporary contexts.

Cruises to Santa
Catalina Island
It's only 22 miles and an hour or two boat ride across the Pacific Ocean
from Long Beach, but with it's pretty harbor, streets lined with cozy cottages
and world-famous Avalon Ballroom and Casino, Santa Catalina Island could be in
the Mediterranean. Guided tours explore the interior of the island, and you can
rent bikes or a golf cart or even ride horseback. Glass-bottomed boats
open a window to the sea, and if you snorkel you can hand-feed the fish.
Disneyland
The Happiest Place on
Earth! Enjoy the rides and sights at this
world famous theme park. From the moment you step onto Main Street, U.S.A.,
you’re immersed in the sights, sounds, and even smells of an early American
small town in the 1900s. Walk down the street to visit Tomorrowland,
Frontierland, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Critter Country, Mickey’s Toontown,
and New Orleans’ Square. It is a “Can’t Miss” for visitors to Southern
California, and only 25 miles from Long Beach.

Half or Full Day Sport
Fishing Trips
The 22nd Street Landing area is home to the largest privately owned
diving and fishing fleets on the West Coast. Take a 1/2-day, 3/4-day or
full-day trip on a Sport Fishing, Scuba Diving / Snorkeling or Charter Boat.
The boats have full-service galleys serving food and beverages. Several shops
offer rental equipment, licenses, tackle and instruction. There is fine
dining overlooking the harbor.
Extended Scenic Tours along the California Coast would be a great addition to your trip. Within a 1/2-day drive, you can enjoy the coast and beaches from Malibu and Ventura to the north and, to the south, Newport and Laguna. Enjoy the quaint village art galleries, shopping and restaurants in Laguna. Highway 1 along the coast farther north will take you on an extended trip. Visit such coastal communities as Santa Barbara, with it’s lovely mission and Spanish architecture, Solvang, the Danish community in the Santa Inez valley north of Santa Barbara, Cambria and San Simeon, home of the Hearst Castle, and on up to the Big Sur coast, Carmel and Monterey. Extended trips south from Long Beach will take you to destinations like San Diego, where you can enjoy the world famous San Diego Zoo, Sea World, and Old Town. California has many lovely state parks to visit as well. For a taste of California history visit any one of the 21 missions on California’s El Camino Real, ("The Royal Highway"). Follow the movement of Padre Junipero Serra, as he established each one on his move north, the first arrival of non-Native Americans to California. Life for the California Native Americans was forever changed. In addition to Christianity, the missions brought many other things to California such as livestock, fruits, flowers, grains and industry. This was the start of the civilization in which we live today.
