The Department of Pathology at theuKeck School of Medicine, located in the Health Sciences Campus, is seeking a Electron Microscopy Supervising Histology Technician to join its team.

The Electron Microscopy Supervising Histology Technician is responsible for performance of transmission electron microscopy (TEM), supervision of laboratory staff, lab management, and the preparation, processing and image acquisition of pathology specimens, primarily renal, lung, nerve and muscle tissue, for the Electron Microscopy Laboratory in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine.

The incumbent will also be responsible for the receipt and accessioning and grossing of specimens, tissue processing and embedding, cutting thick and ultra-thin sections for electron microscopy, cutting frozen sections, immunofluorescent staining and the preparation of solutions for laboratory processing, as well as interaction with clients.

The Keck School of Medicine Department of Pathology is one of the largest pathology departments in the United States. The Department aims to shape the future of pathology as it will be practiced in community hospitals, academic medical centers and clinical laboratories throughout the country.

Preferred Experience: Electron Microscopy experience highly desired

Minimum Education: Related undergraduate study
Minimum Experience: 5 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience
Minimum Field of Expertise: Courses in biology and chemistry. ASCP Certification or eligibility and histotechnician experience in a clinical laboratory.
